General Notes
- All codes establishing the lower bounds where constructed using
MAGMA.
- Special thanks to John Cannon, Computational Algebra Group,
School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Sydney, for his
support in this project.
- A prototype version of MAGMA's code database over GF(2) was
written by Tat Chan in 1999 and extended later that year by
Damien Fisher. The current release version was
developed by Greg White over the period 2001-2006.
- Thanks also to Allan Steel for his MAGMA support.
- Thanks to my colleagues at IAKS, Universität Karlsruhe (TH),
for providing computing power to search for good codes.
- My apologies to all authors that have contributed codes to this table for not giving specific credits.
Linear Block Codes
- Upper bounds are taking from the tables of
Andries E. Brouwer, with the expection of codes over GF(7) with
n>50. For those codes, the upper bounds are rather weak.
- The actual version of the MAGMA code database, including the
functions for creating and accessing the codes has been implemented by
Greg White.
- The initial MAGMA database has been implemented by Damien
Fisher.

Quantum Codes
- Thanks to Eric M. Rains, Department of Mathematics, California Institute of Technology
in particular for communicating his upper bounds on quantum codes.
- Some of the good quantum codes have been found by Zlatko Varbanov, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Veliko Tarnovo University, Bulgaria
